Mid-Autumn Community Outreach: Connecting Older Adults with Support in Kowloon Bay
Ahead of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Finesse Group joined the Office of District Council Member Lai Wing Chun and Mr. IP Hing-kwok, JP, for a community outreach initiative in Kowloon Bay. Festive gift bags were distributed to older adults, allowing the team to share seasonal blessings and celebrate the spirit of reunion with residents.
The initiative went beyond the distribution of gifts. Residents in need were also introduced to social services and community support resources. For some older adults and families, identifying suitable services or understanding how to access them can be challenging. Face-to-face conversations provide a more direct and approachable way to learn about available assistance and consider the next steps based on individual needs.
Meaningful community care is not limited to festive occasions. It is also about building ongoing connections and making sure people know that support is available nearby. By combining Mid-Autumn giving with practical service information, the outreach activity delivered warmth while increasing awareness of useful community resources.
